Our Story
On Thursday, October 29th, 2020, Teri and Alex met for what would be their last "first date." They decided to try something fun and a little different to break the ice, and went indoor rock climbing at “First Ascent” as well as out for dinner and drinks at "The Old Plank" in Logan Square. Needless to say, sparks were flying, and Alex asked Teri out again the very next day. Within a week they went on their second and third dates. One month after their first date, Alex asked Teri to be his girlfriend - the very same night they set up their first Christmas tree together (and Alex carried it up 4 flights of stairs!)
Alex and Teri quickly became inseparable, making pandemic-driven at-home dates an increasingly regular occurrence. Despite their inability to explore new places together in the strange new world of Covid, they found themselves experiencing more joy and laughter during those nights in than they ever had before. They couldn’t believe how quickly their feelings grew, and both soon knew that they had found something truly rare and special. In February 2021, on their first Valentines Day as a couple, Teri and Alex first said “I love you"
Once the world finally re-opened, their travel adventures began. Their first trip together was to Los Angeles, followed by many more including Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Nevada. In fact, Alex’s first time ever leaving the country was on their vacation together to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! They later traveled to the beautiful islands of Santorini and Crete in Greece. Exploring the world quickly became one of their favorite ways to create memories together and strengthen their bond
By January of 2022, Teri was unofficially living with Alex. After five months of remodeling his condo together (and finally replacing his beat-up washer/dryer to make the home more girl-friendly!), Teri "officially" moved in with Alex that May
On September 5th, 2022, nearly two years after their first date, Alex proposed to Teri at sunset on a beautiful seaside cliff in Santorini, Greece. Once engaged, Teri and Alex began ecstatically planning their future life together. In September 2023, a year after getting engaged, they moved to Ukrainian Village to begin their next chapter, which is where they now live along with their adorable kitty, Sherlock
Alex and Teri are thrilled to start the next phase of their lives as a married couple. They are especially excited for their next big adventure on their honeymoon to Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Malaysia, followed by the Maldives
They cannot wait to celebrate their love with all of you at their wedding on March 9th, 2024 at the Langham Chicago!
